Meet the Board Members

Arlyn Leaming
Board President

Arlyn Leaming is the retired Sheriff of Ford County, where he served from 1985–2001. He has been a dedicated member of the Meadowlark House Board since 2016 and currently serves as Board President, offering decades of leadership experience in law enforcement and community safety.

Cynthia Vierthaler
Board Secretary

Cynthia Vierthaler retired after many years of service at the Spearville News, where she held several roles including bookkeeping and serving as editor of the newspaper. She joined the Meadowlark House Board in 2023 and currently serves as Board Secretary, bringing strong organizational skills and a deep connection to the local community.

Tammi Fisher
Board Member

Tammi Fisher is the Dual Credit Coordinator at Dodge City Community College, supporting academic advancement and student success. She has served on the Meadowlark House Board since 2023, offering community connections and educational perspectives.

Josh Thompson
Board Member

Josh Thompson serves as Director of Security for Dodge City Community College, where he works to ensure safety across campus. A board member since 2023, Josh brings vital experience in security, risk assessment, and organizational safety.

Jade Schaffer
Board Treasurer

Jade Schaffer is a counselor with Dodge City Public Schools, supporting student wellbeing through social-emotional guidance. Jade joined the Meadowlark House Board in January 2025 and currently serves as Treasurer, combining financial stewardship with deep compassion for children and families.

Elda Flores
Board Member

Elda Flores works as a counselor for Dodge City Public Schools, bringing expertise in child advocacy, emotional health, and family support. She has served on the board since August 2025 and contributes her hands-on counseling experience to further the mission of Meadowlark House.

Brekk Schoonover Ellis
Board Member

Brekk Schoonover Ellis is a homemaker and former Meadowlark House Forensic Interviewer. A board member since October 2025, she brings valuable historical perspective, professional expertise, and heartfelt commitment to the organization’s work.

Providing compassion, support and safe spaces.

We provide a safe, supportive space for children and families during difficult situations. Our team works alongside local agencies to help reduce trauma and connect families with the care and resources they need.
